The present chapel, carried out by Lorenzo di Filippo in 1386-90, occupies the first span on the left aisle, this to give a defenitive accommodation to the Holy Girdle.
The inside area was completly frescoed by Agnolo Gaddi with the stories of Mary, in particular, inspired episodes from the events of the Holy Girdle. These stories occupy all the eastern whole wall.

The statuette of the Holy Mother with Her Child in white marble, done probably in the first of XIV century for a little choir inside the Pieve, is an opera by Giovanni Pisano (working between 1275-1317).

Fence - Maso di Bartolomeo, photo by A. Tradii
The chapel, in the two sides towards the church, is closed by a refined iron fence in bronze, a Renaissance masterpiece (1438-1442) by Maso di Bartolomeo, that has gothic motives enriched with naturalistic hints.
